The County Council has allocated 4 million NOK to the restoration project at the Henrik Ibsen Museum. Another day of celebration for the museum!<\/p>\n <\/div>\n \n<\/section>\n\n\n

-We are very happy that the county is continuing to support our project; it\u2019s crucial for our progress.<\/p>\n

-Hooray! And thank you so much, says Silje Honningdal, head of Ibsen 2028 at the Telemark Museum.<\/p>\n

Just before Christmas last year, the Henrik Ibsen Museum was awarded 11.5 million NOK in the state budget. The museum also receives support from Skien Municipality, and with today’s decision by the County Council, the meticulous restoration work on the main house at Venst\u00f8p can continue.<\/p>\n

The chimney is down!<\/strong><\/p>\n

On the day of the allocation, June 13th, museum craftsman Karina B\u00f8rven, together with traditional craftsman Hans Petter Musum, dismantled the rest of the chimney inside the main house. The bricks were removed piece by piece, and soon a new chimney and hearth will be built. This will help restore the kitchen to what is believed to be its appearance during Henrik Ibsen\u2019s childhood.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n\n\n
