Decorative techniques often serve a purpose—to showcase local cultural heritage and tell a story. Traditionally, decorative techniques have been approached as purely technical, physical, or aesthetic subjects. Research also explores the historical context of decoration.
Decorative techniques is a broad topic, often discussed within professional communities such as researchers, museum professionals, and practitioners in the arts, among others. This seminar approaches the topic in a new and innovative way. The aim is to provide a fresh perspective on decorative techniques and present them to a wider audience as both an attraction and a societal value.
Cultural tourism is an important part of working with ceramic heritage. We have therefore invited our partners from Poland, Slovakia, and Italy to join us and share their experiences and knowledge related to the preservation and revitalization of intangible cultural heritage, as well as how decorative techniques can be connected to cultural tourism.
