DuVerden Maritime Museum and Science Centre is an experience and learning center for science, technology, and maritime history and has status as a regional science center for Vestfold and Telemark. As one of the country’s 12 science centres, we are part of the government’s strategy and action plans to increase interest in and recruitment to science subjects.

As a maritime museum and science centre, DuVerden plays a role in public education and is an arena where the public can renew their knowledge on their own terms. With interactive exhibitions, various communication methods and text, images and films, we show diversity and breadth and put the themes into contemporary, historical, and cultural contexts. Through municipal agreements, school agreements, and regional and national projects, we are a resource for schools and nurseries in Vestfold and Telemark and offer relevant learning programs and activities.

DuVerden is owned by the Telemark Museum and is located in the House of Seafaring in Porsgrunn.
