About the Porcelain Museum

The Porcelain Museum in Porsgrunn tells the story of Porsgrund Porcelain Factory.

The Porcelain Museum in Porsgrunn tells the story of Porsgrund Porcelain Factory (known locally as “PP”). At the Porcelain Museum, you will be invited into a world of craftsmanship and history, decorations and models. Here, tradition is combined with digital technology and dialogue, and in our new workshop, you can turn your own ceramic products.

Perhaps you will find porcelain you have never seen before?

Perhaps you will find porcelain that evokes good memories?

Perhaps you will hear new stories about the porcelain in your cupboard?

PP for over 130 years in 1887, Porsgrund Porcelain Factory was established, and over 130 years later, porcelain is still produced in Porsgrunn. A visit to the factory’s production facility is part of the tour. Feel free to book a tour with a visit to the factory and see how porcelain is created, fired, and decorated. The museum is co-located with PP’s own factory outlet. The auction hall that sells old porcelain is also next door.
