Taffel & Vaffel (Music & Waffles): Aasmund Nordstoga and Åsmund Reistad 4 November at 15:00
For more than 25 years, Aasmund Nordstoga and Åsmund Reistad have played their music with a relaxed atmosphere, humour and joy! On stage, they are a unique duo. They perform different kinds of songs and folk music – beautiful, funny, quiet and energetic. Everywhere they go, they are remembered. They are a musical lucky charm.
They have now released the album “Tom Duley og andre viser” (“Tom Duley and other songs”), which is their first album together. It contains songs from the songbook with the same name, which Hartvig Kiran published in 1962. You will hear old North American songs in Kiran’s Norwegian translation, in Nordstoga and Reistad’s new versions. These are songs that were used in the 70’s by Norwegian singers like Lillebjørn Nilsen, Kari Svendsen, Jørn Simen Øverli, Ivar Medaas and Lars Klevstrand. Nordstoga and Reistad have been very successful with this album and their concerts.
Telemark Museum offers concerts with professional musicians this autumn – all completely free. We have called them Taffel & Vaffel (“Taffel” means dinner music and “Vaffel” means waffle), and they start on Saturdays at 15:00. Get a great concert experience and buy yourself a Norwegian waffle if you want to. You can also visit our free exhibitions on the same floor.
Brekkeparken is a park in Skien and part of Telemark Museum. Brekkeparken has an open-air museum, an old manor house and a modern museum building (VEV) with changing exhibitions. The entrance is at Øvregate 32B, 3715 Skien, only a short walk from the city centre.
