Via Ceram

ViaCeram – Polen og Norge på Den Europeiske Keramiske Ruten

ViaCeram – Poland and Norway on the European Ceramic Route Cooperation project between the Telemark Museum and the Ceramic Museum in Boleslawiec, as well as the Boleslawiec municipality. The project is planned to be carried out within the first quarter of 2024. The grant amount is 3,500,000 euros, while the total budget is 4,442,923.81 euros.

Project Description: “ViaCeram” can be divided into two main parts. One main part of “ViaCeram” is about the restoration and revitalization of the old Puckler palace, where a new ceramic museum will be established. The museum is to be completed by the end of 2023. The aim is to produce knowledge about how new and modern exhibitions can be developed, based on the interaction between history, ceramic production and the development of the city.

The second part of the project has a wider, activity-based connection to ceramics. Examples of activities include artistic events and exhibitions, where ceramics from Boleslawiec and porcelain from Porsgrunn will be presented.

In 2022, a series of seminars on the exchange of museum knowledge will be carried out. This will be further disseminated and thus increase knowledge about porcelain in the local environment. It is particularly this project that has led to both Porsgrunn and Boleslawiec becoming members of the international cooperation network European Route of Ceramics. Both parties have committed to collecting, compiling and sending over information and material to be published on their route’s website. In this way, all participants become more visible on the international arena and open the possibility of attracting new international tourists. Both parties will also have the opportunity to present their ceramic goods at the international ceramic festival Argilla Italia 2022 taking place in Faenza, Italy.
